As the part of the market research trip, on 5th February 2020, Mr. Andrew Langston – The Vice President in charge of business development of Centara Hotels & Resorts Group (Thailand) visited the Everland Group’s Head Office. Mr. Le Dinh Vinh – The Chairman of Everland Group and The Board of Management had an effective working day with Mr. Andrew Langston.
Centara Hotels & Resorts is a key member of Central Group – one of Thailand’s leading private groups operating in the fields of real estate, retail, hotel and restaurant with 70,000 staffs, 9 subsidiaries and affiliates in many countries all over the world. Nowadays, Centara Hotels & Resorts is the leading hotel management brand in Thailand. It also manages and operate a system of 82 hotels with a total of 75,000 rooms in Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. Male, Oman, Qatar, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, China, UAE, Japan … Centara Hotels & Resorts is a well-known brand in the field of hotel management with Thailand management style while making use of the natural elements and indigenous cultures of each country. In Vietnam, Central Group has entered many fields, from retail, tourism to hotel management. It is also famous for many M&A deals, acquiring a series of large supermarket chains such as BigC, Nguyen Kim, Lan Chi Mart, etc.
At the meeting, Mr. Andrew Langston was heard of the history of Everland Group’s establishment and development, also its scale and business strategy in the next decade, focusing on 3 main pillars are Real Estate – Construction – Tourism services. In real estate, Everland has been investing in a series of hotels and resort complexes combined with entertainment and shopping activities along the coast such as Van Don, Phu Yen and Nha Trang, Ninh Thuan… Within the next 3-5 years, these areas will be completed and handed over to Crystal Holidays for management and exploitation. In the field of tourism, the Crystal Holidays brand (a subsidiary of Everland) is aiming to become a leading enterprise in developing tourism products and creating The smart travelling ecosystems in the smokeless industry in Vietnam.
Besides, after researching and assessing the potentials and strengths of each side, the leaders of the two parties shared and exchanged frankly about cooperative opportunities between Everland Group and Centara Hotels & Resorts. Mr. Le Dinh Vinh said that Everland expected to seek for opportunities to cooperate with global brands on hotel management, shopping mall in which Centara Hotels & Resorts was a potential partner selected by Everland.
Moreover, Centara Hotels & Resorts whose reputation and experience was very suitable for the resort tourism products that Everland was developing and Crystal Holidays are the management and operating unit. Last but not least, Everland wished to learn and inherit the experience of Centara Hotels & Resorts in the field of developing, managing and exploiting tourism and service infrastructure in Thailand. Followed by creatively applying that in Vietnamese market.
On behalf of Centara Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Andrew Langston expressed a strong impression on Everland’s strategic vision of real estate and tourism field. He also appreciated the cooperative opportunity between Everland and Centara Hotels & Resorts based on the needs and strengths of each party. Mr. Andrew Langston also said that Centara Hotels & Resorts considered Everland to be one of most potential partners in Vietnam and was willing to cooperate and share experiences about hotel management model and operate supermarket system. It is also a strategic goal of Centara Hotels & Resorts in expanding Asian markets and developing exclusive brands in the near future.
After visiting at Everland’s Headquarter, Mr. Andrew Langston would continue to examize some tourism real estate projects invested by Everland with deepen the understanding about the situation of the Vietnamese tourism market. Before the end of the trip, Everland and Centara Hotels & Resorts will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the management and exploitation of the Crystal Holidays Habbour Van Don Project invested by Everland Group. After this trip, Everland and Centara Hotels & Resorts will continue to discuss about specific programs and cooperative plans to exploit the potentials and strengths of each party paving the way for developing tourism market in Vietnam./.
